NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ORDINANCE NO. 2015-12B-002
FLOODPLAIN ORDINANCE
The City of Parsons, Tucker County, West Virginia, a municipal corporation, will hold a final vote on a proposed ordinance. The title of said ordinance is “Floodplain Ordinance.” The principal object of said ordinance is to replace the existing Floodplain Ordinance and to establish a floodplain that requires all contractors, persons, partnerships, businesses, and corporations to obtain a permit for the development, construction, substantial improvement, or relocation of any building or structure; providing for certain minimum standards for construction within the floodplain area and setting forth special procedures for submission and approval of all plans; and establishing penalties for any person who fails to comply with the requirements or provisions of this ordinance.
The final vote on adoption of said ordinance shall be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. (EDT) in the Council Chambers, located on the first floor of the Charles W. “Bill” Rosenau Municipal Building, 341 Second Street, Parsons, West Virginia. Interested parties may appear and be heard at such time with respect to said ordinance. Copies of said ordinance are available at the Parsons Business Office, located at 341 Second Street, Parsons, West Virginia, between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. (EDT), Monday through Friday, except holidays. The said ordinance may be materially amended at said meeting.
If adopted, said ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from the time of its passage.
