PUBLIC NOTICE
Ohio County Schools Office of Special Education is hereby notifying the public of the intent to destroy confidential special education records for those persons born between 1979-1991. The public is duly notified that the former student (or legal guardian) may need these records in the future for social security purposes, legal defense, or other reasons.
Former students born between 1979-1991 who received special education services while enrolled in Ohio County Schools (or their legal guardian) may request the confidential special education file by contacting Ohio County Schools Office of Special Education at 2203 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003; 304-243-0314 within 30 days of this notice and no later than December 22, 2021. Picture identification is required before records will be released. The person receiving the records will be asked to sign a form documenting receipt of the records.
All unclaimed confidential special education records of persons born between 1979-1991 will be destroyed on or immediately after January 1, 2022.
