NOTICE OF
APPLICATION TO CHANGE RATES
On September 8, 2015, the Hammond Public Service District, a public utility, filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia, an application requesting increased rates and charges for furnishing water service to approximately 919 customers in Wellsburg, Brooke County, West Virginia.
The Staff of the Public Service Commission has reviewed the application and has recommended increased rates and charges designed to produce under Step 1 (for 24 months) approximately $24,838 annually, or an 4.39{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} increase over revenue under current rates and under Step 2 (after 24 months) a revenue decrease of $2,772 annually, or a 0.49{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} decrease under existing rates.

Due to an inadvertent error, the previously published Staff-recommended Step 1 rates listed the minimum charge for a 3-inch meter at $544.52. The correct Staff -recommended Step 1 rate for the minimum charge for a 3-inch meter is $568.35.

Amyone desiring to protest the changed rates and charges must do so, in writing, within ten days of the date of publication of this Notice. All protests should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, West Virinia 25323. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to reasons that the changed rates and changes should be modified. In addition, anyone desiring a hearing in this matter must demand a hearing in the letter of protest.
If no hearing is demanded, the Commission may affirm the proposed rates without a hearing.
