40 Hours per week w/Benefits Hours may vary to include Evenings & Saturdays
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The County Coordinator reports directly to the three Brooke County commissioners. Responsibilities include oversight of the Commission office staff and working closely with other elected officials. Additional responsibilities/duties include but are not limited to: project management, budget preparation, reading and applying the West Virginia Code, and County Ordinances, policy developing, creating and managing spreadsheets, and grant management.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
1. Provide support to County Commissioners
2. Responsible for maintaining the budgets for the Commission
3. Responsible for attending County Commission meetings and all other meetings as required by the Commission
4. Helps develop the county budget
5. Prepare and administer grants and reports
6. Assists office staff with general inquiries and day to day operations of county government
7. Responsible for the employee policies and procedures manual to assist other department heads with questions and continuity
8. Responsible for social media and website postings and Freedom of Information Act requests, etc.
9. Responsible for follow thru of code enforcement of dilapidated buildings and litter control
10. Performs related work as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. Should possess a Bachelor’s Degree & 5 years of progressive management experience OR 5 years of relevant experience.
2. Strong computer & budgeting skills
3. Strong interpersonal skills
4. Ability to maintain records
5. Ability to understand & carry out detailed instructions 6. Excellent verbal & written communication skills
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Possession of a valid driver’s license
2. Clean drug test & Clear background check
3. May be required to occasionally work evenings & weekends
