ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the AAA Lift Station Improvements, Contract 22-1 will be received by the New Martinsville Water & Sanitary Sewer Board at New Martinsville City Building located at 191 Main Street; New Martinsville, West Virginia 26155 until 11:00 a.m. (local time), May 26, 2022 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Any Bids received after the above time and date will be returned unopened to the Bidder. No conditional Bids will be accepted.
The work covered by this Advertisement for Bids includes the following:
Contract 22-1 – AAA Lift Station Improvements
Work includes demolishing the existing lift station building; demolishing the existing lid from the lift station; replacing the existing influent manhole; installing a new duplex submersible pumping system in the existing lift station wet well; replacing piping and valves in the lift station; electrical improvements; and site work, together with necessary appertaining work.

A pre-bid conference will be held at the New Martinsville City Building located at 191 Main Street at 10:00 a.m. (local time), May 18, 2022 and will include a site visit to the lift station site. ATTENDANCE BY ALL BIDDERS IS MANDATORY.
Per the requirements of the Article 21-11-11 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a Bid on this project will be required to certify, indicate, and acknowledge that he/she has a Contractor’s license from the State of West Virginia and meets all the qualifications required by the statutes of the State of West Virginia and the subdivision in which the Work is to be performed.
Per the requirements of the Article 21-1D-5 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a bid for a public improvement construction contract shall provide an affidavit of compliance that the Contractor has a written drug-free workplace policy. Failure to complete and submit the Drug Free Workplace Conformance Affidavit Form shall result in disqualification of the Bid.
A cashiers check payable to “New Martinsville Water & Sanitary Sewer Board” or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, to guarantee the Bidder’s entrance into a Contract, if given the award.
Attention is called to the Instructions to Bidders, which are included in the Contract Documents. Successful Bidders shall be required to comply with all laws pertaining to minimum wage and discrimination of persons.
The New Martinsville Water & Sanitary Sewer Board reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and is not necessarily bound to accept the lowest Bid, if that Bid is contrary to the best interest of the Board. The Board reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bidding.
