Notice to Prospective Bidders:
Wheeling Hospital, WVU Medicine (Owner) is seeking qualified Demolition Contractors to provide complete demolition services and hazardous material abatement for the site formerly known as Ohio Valley Medical Center. The site is approximately 9 acres with more than seven structures totaling more than 700,000 gsf. The property is located at 2000 Eoff St, Wheeling, WV 26003 and is bounded by; 20th Street, Chapline Street, 22nd Street and SR 250.
The Owner will receive sealed Submittal of Qualifications from contractors interested in submitting construction bids on the Project described in this Advertisement, until the time and date given below
1. Regulatory Requirements: noted in the specifications shall govern submittal and evaluation of qualifications.
2. QUALIFICATIONS OF PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
a. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work.
b. Federal Prevailing Wage Rates apply to this work.
c. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to the Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.
d. There is a liquidated damages clause that will be part of the contract.
3. Every Bidder who is not prequalified, must submit with their bid, a Prequalification Submittal – which will be evaluated by Owner according to the following criteria, described in greater detail in the documents:
a. Prequalification documents must be included with the submitted bid.
i. Proper license under the laws governing their respective trade(s)
ii. Capacity to provide adequate Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner.
iii. Adequate financial resources, work-in-hand capacity, adequate organization, and acceptable past performance.
iv. Applicable experience of project manager and field crew to be assigned to the Work.
v. Past experience of the firm on project(s) of this scale and complexity in an urban site.

A Mandatory Prebid is scheduled for June 21, 2023, 9:00AM ESDT. The meeting will be held at the site in the lobby of the old hospital. Failure to attend this meeting will disqualify the bidder.
Bids will be due July 13,2023 9:00 AM and will be publicly opened at 10:00 AM at Wheeling Hospital as noted in the bidding documents.
