On June 30, 2023, the Public Service Commission of West Virginia (Commission) opened a general investigation into the maintenance and testing of fire hydrants. An extension is being provided to public utilities that own fire hydrants or serve privately owned fire hydrants to provide responsive information as specified in the August, 2 2023 Order to the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Karen Buckley, at P.O. Box 812, Charleston, WV 25323, by August 25, 2023. Interested parties may review the order opening the general investigation online at
