NOTICE
The Children’s Museum of the Ohio Valley is requesting bids for a roof replacement for 2112 Market St., Wheeling WV 26003.
The project includes:
1-Removal of shingle and membrane roofing materials and flashings down to existing decking, and disposal of all debris at an approved landfill.
2-At the existing shingle roofs, installation of new underlayment, metal flashings and trims, and 40 year algae-resistant dimensional shingles as GAF Timberline HD or equal.
3-At the existing membrane roofs, installation of 1/2″ high density insulation and a black .060 EPDM system with metal flashings and trims.
4-At the existing vertical shake and shingle surfaces, installation of a new layer of exterior-grade plywood, ice and water shield and new shingles.
5-Clean the existing metal dome and reseal and coat open joints with Uniflex acrylic coating.
The project completion date is no later than December 30, 2017 and will be reviewed by the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Contractors will be selected based upon: 1) cost, 2) experience with similar historic preservation projects, and 3) proven ability to complete a project of this size and scope. The contractor must carry out the described work in compliance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
