For Excavator and Trailer Bid Notice
The Tomlinson Public Service District is accepting bids for three (3) separate items, the first being a Trailer for hauling excavator/heavy equipment, the second bid is for an excavator, and the third bid will be for a Dump Truck for pulling the trailer and excavator and. Each bid is to be submitted on the Vendor’s standard bid quote/quote form, and by submitting a bid, the Vendor certifies that the excavator and trailer meet all the below requirements. Each bid should be submitted separately in it’s own envelope and clearly marked “Bid No. 1” on trailer bid, “Bid No. 2” on Excavator bid, and “Bid No. 3” on Dump Truck bid.
All bids must meet AIS (American Iron and Steel) requirements. For more information please contact the engineer. It is the vendors responsibilty to determine if these requirements pertain to their bid or not.
Tomlinson PSD currently owns a 2016 Case CE CX36B with closed cab and would like to option of trading in toward the purchase of new Excavator. The estimated value of this excavator is $28,000.00 as provided by the PSD. Each vendor must examine the trade in and include that credit in their bid
Bid No. 1 – Trailer shall be drop deck split tilt – flush design – tilt deck, 81″ x 18′ + 4′ stationary deck, 18,900 GVWR – 16,000 LB axle capacity, electric brakes, 2″ oak deck, chain basket, electric brakes – 2″ solid white oak deck, with a 2 5/16″ ball coupler style hitch, and have a 20K RV 7-way plug-RV/electric and have steel conduit for all wiring. All necessary lights will be LED. The trailer and tongue shall be made of a heavy-duty steel construction, having heavy duty 14-gauge diamond plate steel fenders, trailer shall have EZ lube grease hubs and forward self-adjusting brakes/equalizers. Trailer Tires shall be 16 ply 215/75r17.5 H rated or equal capable of hauling total load weight and be on 8 bolt HD wheels 4-BLT . The trailer shall have 10 D-ring style tie downs mounted on trailer. Trailer shall have a drop leg style jack with a lift rating of 10,000 lbs. and a static rating of 12,000 lbs. Trailer shall have a fender step on each side. The trailer shall have a safety breakaway system and safety chains and hooks supplied with trailer. The trailer shall be black in color or approved equal.
Bid No. 2 – Excavator shall have a Max Digging Depth 12′ 9″ Max Digging Radius @ Ground Level 20′ 1″ Max Vertical Digging Depth 5′ 4″ Max Dumping Height 13′ 8.6″. Excavator shall have a Dozer Blade Dimensions Width 77.2″ Height 16.1″ Lift Above Ground 17.3″ Drop Below Ground 15.9″. Excavator shall have a Digging Force @ Bucket 10,172 lbs. Digging Force @ Dipper Arm 5,463 lbs. Travel Speed (Low) 1.7 mph Travel Speed (High) 3.0 mph Climbing Ability 36% / 20 Lift Capacity 3,410 lbs. Over Front Blade Grounded 4.0 Ft. Load Point Height 12.0 Ft. Load Radius. Excavator shall have a 4-cycle engine capable of 46 hp at a minimum. The Excavator shall be equipped with the following additional items: 24″ quick attach trenching bucket, 36″ quick attach cemetery bucket, hydraulic thumb, quick attach coupler, AT&T Telematics modem, Excavator & WL Telematics Harness, along with Heavy-duty d-rings. The truck is to be supplied with a 7-way flat trailer plug incorporated in hitch plate.
The excavator shall be equipped with rubber tracks, as manufactured by Kubota K series KX057-5R3AP or approved equal.
Bid No. 3 – Truck and Dump Truck Bed Bid
The Truck shall be a 4500 series 2023 or newer Crew 4×4 Tradesman Diesel Chassis as manufactured by Ram. The truck shall be white in color with black/diesel grey interior. The front bench seat shall be a heavy-duty vinyl 40/20/40 split. The truck shall be equipped with a 6.7l Cummins turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic HD transmission., The truck shall also be equipped with the following items: cold weather group accessories, electrical accessories group, heavy duty snowplow prep group, Max Towing Package, chrome appearance group, front and rear rubber floor mats, remote keyless entry, 115-volt aux power outlet, 2-way power lumbar adjustable driver seat, LED tail Lamps, front fog lamps, cargo and center high mount stop lamp, front splash guards, full size spare tire, 225/70R 19.5 G all traction tires, rear back up camera, manual DFP regeneration.
The truck shall have a max trailer weight towing capacity of 28,790 lbs. or approved equal.
The Dump Bed shall be an 11′-4″ x96″ aluminum body dump bed. Dump Bed shall have all stainless-steel hardware, and be made of heavy-duty construction, Aluminum floor of bed shall be 6061-T6 heat treated aluminum. Aluminum frames shall have extruded cross members on 5″ centers. The dump bed tailgate shall be 22.5″ high and sides of dump bed will be 16.5″ high. Bed shall have heavy duty under body scissor sub frame. The hydraulic bed hoist shall be capable of lifting 21,400 lbs./10 tons and shall be of the electric over hydraulic hoist make. The Dump bed shall be equipped with a removable 3/4 cab shield with tarp capability. All lighting will be integrated with the body and will of the LED type. A heavy-duty rear hitch plate with 2.5″ receiver will be welded to frame or approved equal.
All questions on bidding must be submitted one (1) week prior to bidding and answered by three (3) days prior to bid deadline. Any questions after that will not be answered and it will be up to the vendor to determine.
