REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS
Pursuant to West Virginia Code 5G-1-3, the City of Weirton is seeking Statements of Qualification (“SOQ”) for an engineering/ architecture consultant to serve the role of Code Official as provided for by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office (Section 87-7-3.1.a). This consultant will provide inspection services for various projects within the municipality, support staff in the plan review process, and offer assistance in the day-to-day operations of the Building Inspection and Code Enforcement Departments. Projects may include, but are not limited to, new homes, additions, and decks, with an emphasis on commercial structures. It is expected that the selected firm will spend 30 to 40 hours weekly in this role for the City of Weirton.
Consultants interested in being considered for this project must submit a statement detailing qualifications, technical expertise, and related experience. Selected firms must be able to provide services for projects in the planning, permitting, design, and construction phases, as well as be willing to obtain the proper credentials from the WV State Fire Marshal. The consultant selection process will comply with the WV Code Chapter 5G.
