Invitation To Bid
The owner of Mt. Carmel Monastery is requesting a bid for repairing and repainting the exterior of the building at 102 Carmel Rd at Wheeling.
The project includes cleaning, repairing cracks, and missing pieces in the stucco and repainting all the exterior building including the 4 chimneys.
The project completion date is no later than Aug 31, 2025, estimating the majority of work will be done in the summer of 2025 due to best practices and weather restrictions, and will be reviewed by the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Contractors will be selected based upon (1) cost, (2) experience with similar historic preservation projects, and (3) proven ability to complete a project. The contractor must conduct the described work in compliance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The bid package is available by emailing

A mandatory pre-bid walk-through at 5:00 pm on Thur 9/19/2024 will be conducted onsite. Contractors must be present at the selected hour and date. Parking will be available onsite.

Partial funds for this project are through the WV State Historic Preservation Office. All applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations apply.
