Acceptance Of Sealed Bids, For:
The City of Weirton Public Enhancement of Three Springs Drive Landscape Contract.
SEALED BIDS will be received until Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at the City Manager’s Office, The City of Weirton Municipal Building, 200 Municipal Plaza, 2nd floor, Weirton, WV 26062. Att: Valerie Means.
Bids will be publicly opened and read on September 19, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. at the offices of the City of Weirton.
Landscape Contract Work will include:
Landscaping
Mulch
Seeding
Landscape Bids must be submitted on the forms furnished with the project manual of the bid package which can be obtained at the Offices of the City Manager. Bid Packages can be obtained from the City Managers Office, City of Weirton, Municipal Building, 200 Municipal Plaza, 2nd floor, Weirton, WV 26062, phone 304-797-8503 as of August 29, 2012. Copies may be obtained for depositing a non-refundable deposit of $5.00. Sets can be mailed, if requested, at the bidder’s expense.
Prospective bidders are advised that this project is subject to and governed by, provisions of the State of West Virginia Prevailing Wage Rate Requirements and the Federal Davis Bacon Wage Requirements provided within the project manual. Preparations of the proposals will be based upon bidders giving consideration to the applicability of said Act and all other statues relating to the work involved. All proposals shall be accompanied with a Bid Bond of 10{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} of the bidders total cost for the above mentioned project.
Proposals are to be sealed, and delivered to The City Manager’s Office, City of Weirton Municipal Building, 200 Municipal Plaza, 2nd Floor, Weirton, WV 26062, Att: Valerie Means and marked “Public Enhancements of Three Springs Drive Landscape Construction. Any proposals received after tha above date and time will not be accepted. Additionally, no bid will be returned once submitted. After review and comparison of all submitted bids and after 15 days, the required bid surety of the three (3) lowest responsible bidders shall be retained and all others will be returned. When the Contract has been awarded and executed and all requisite surety bonds provided, the bid surety of the (2) remaining unsuccessful Bidders will be returned to them.
The Landscape Construction project shall begin with 10 days of the execution of the contract.

(provide name in subject line). No questions will be received or responded by phone. All questions must be submitted prior to September 10, 2012. No questions will be addressed after 4:00 p.m. on September 10, 2012. Addendums will be provided via fax/email on and up to September 12, 2012.
Notice is given to prospective Bidders that contact award review will include total cost, unit cost and alternate cost which will most benefit the City of Weirton. The City of Weirton reserves the right, which is understood and agreed to by all Bidders, to accept or reject any or all bids submitted thereunder or any part hereof or item therein, and to readvertise for bid, if the City of Weirton so deems it necessary. The City of Weirton also reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, or omission, irregularities or informalities in the bids received.
