Notice is given that Environmental Commodities Corporation has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality for an application for a new Construction Permit for the Mine Methane Capture Project of a new facility located in MarshallCounty,WV. The existing facility islocated at the 4K-3 site (39.904845, -80.598612) in Cameron,
W V.
The purpose of the facilities is to mitigate the methane currently emitting from an active mine due to safety measures for mining operations. This environmental action isentirely voluntary and not mandated by any State of Federal requirement. The applicant estimates the potential to discharge the following Regulated AirPollutants will be: no more than16.43 tons/year of NOx and 32.8S tons/year of CO for the facility at this site. Please note, the system’s purpose is to reduce an already existing pollutant.
Startup ofoperation is planned to begin upon permit issuance, on or about the June 1st day of August 2025. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57thStreet, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least30 calendar daysfrom the date ofpublication of this notice. Written comments will also be received via email at DEPAirQualityPermitting @WV.gov.
