PERMIT NOTICE
Notice of Application
Notice is given that Environmental CommodiOes Corporation has applied to the West Virginia
Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality for an application for a new
Construction Permit for the Mine Methane Capture Project of a new facility located in Marshall
County, WV. The existing facility is located at the 3K-5 site (39.9000833, -80.5997500) in Wolf Run, WV. The purpose of the facilities is to mitigate the methane currently emitting from an active mine due
to safety measures for mining operations. This environmental action is entirely voluntary and not
mandated by any State of Federal requirement. The applicant estimates the potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants will be: no more than 16.43 tons/year of NOx and 32.85 tons/year of CO for the facility at this site. Please note, the system’s purpose is to reduce an already existing pollutant. Startup of operaOon is planned to begin upon permit issuance, on or about the 31st day of March 2025. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Written comments will also be received
via email at DEPAirQualityPermitting @WV.gov.
