NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(MT. HERMAN THOMAS CHAPEL UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH)
Notice is hereby given that Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after April 30, 2025 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to THE TRUSTEES OF
THOMAS CHAPEL , all of their right, title and interest in and to the following described lot or parcel of land, lying in Church District, Wetzel County, West Virginia, and
bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at stone on the point, corner to lot sold by John Hudson; thence up the point S. 25 E. 17 3/4 poles to a stake in McMellons line, thence with his line E. 20 W. 6 1/4 poles to a stake in John Henson line, thence with the line of the Hudson lot S. 75 1/2 W. 15 1/2 poles to the “beginning” containing 5/16th of an acre more or less.
And being the same property conveyed to The Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church , from L ewis Fox and Charlotte Fox , his wife, by Deed
dated June 1, 1905 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wetzel County, West Virginia in Deed Book 85, at page 587, reference to which is hereby made.
Said Mt. Herman Thomas Chapel United Methodist Church was closed effective November 7, 2024 by
resolution of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.
