REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The City of Weirton will be accepting proposals for the following:
2 PORTABLE WALK THROUGH METAL DETECTORS AND
2 HAND HELD METAL DETECTORS TO BE USED FOR
WEAPON DETECTION ON PEOPLE ENTERING THE
CITY OF WEIRTON MUNICIPAL BUILDING
All bids received must be submitted by 2:00 PM, Friday, July 11, 2025 in a sealed envelope and labeled as “PROPOSAL FOR – 2 PORTABLE METAL DETECTORS AND 2 HAND HELD METAL DETECTORS FOR THE CITY OF WEIRTON POLICE DEPARTMENT”, and delivered or mailed to: City of Weirton, 200 Municipal Plaza, Weirton, WV 26062 – Attention: Weirton Police Chief Charlie Kush.
Sealed bids will be publicly opened at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025, in Room 201 of the Weirton Municipal Building, 200 Municipal Plaza, Weirton, WV 26062.

Please be advised that a Five Percent (5%) Bid Bond, a Completed Non-Collusion Affidavit, State of West Virginia Affidavit, and Bid Sheet must accompany all bids or bid will not be accepted. Bid Bond may be in the form of a Certified Check drawn on the bidder’s account and made payable to the City of Weirton.
In accordance with City Ordinance No. 973, codified as Section 783.01 of the City of Weirton’s Code of Ordinances, a five percent (5%) preference for Resident Vendors is in effect, provided said preference is invoked in writing.
The contract to furnish said item as herein advertised will be awarded by City Council to the vendor who submits the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Weirton.
The City of Weirton reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals received, and to accept any proposal which it deems most favorable.
