PUBLIC NOTICE
The first reading of the following ordinances took place at a Regular Meeting of Weirton City Council on Monday, September 8, 2025. The second reading is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., in the Weirton City Council Chambers, 200 Municipal Plaza, Weirton, West Virginia 26062, during the Regular Meeting of Council. Interested parties may appear and make public comment on the ordinances at the Regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Copies of the ordinances can be obtained by contacting the Weirton City Clerk’s Office at 304-797-8500 x1045. Ordinance No. 2252 to Modify Ordinance No. 647, Codified in the City of Weirton Code of Ordinances as Article 941 Sewer Regulations, and Correcting Miscellaneous Typographical Errors and Incorrect References Found in Article Section 945 Sewer Rates and Article Section 947.03 Use of Sewer Facilities Mandatory. Ordinance No. 2253 to Amend the Traffic Control Map, Ordinance No. 214, to reduce the speed limit on Thurman Avenue from 25 mph to 15 mph. Ordinance No. 2254 to Amend the Traffic Control Map, Ordinance No. 214, to install a stop sign on Figueroa Street at the Corner of Figueroa Street and North 10th Street. Ordinance No. 2255 to Install Crosswalks on West Street at the intersections of Lee Avenue, Ferguson Avenue, and Taylor Avenue. Ordinance No. 2256 to Amend the Traffic Control Map, Ordinance No. 214, to extend the existing yellow curb across from 136 Estes Avenue by four feet on each side of the line. Ordinance No. 2257 to Repeal Ordinance 1743 and Ordinance 1774, which Ordinance 1743 is Codified as Article Section 956 Stormwater Management and Surface Water Discharge Control of the Weirton City Code and Re-Enacting said Article Section 956 as Stormwater Management and Surface Water Discharge Control. Ordinance No. 2258 to Amend Article Section 553.01 Weapons: License Required to be Retitled and Revised as Possession of Weapons on City Property and Amend Article Section 553.06 Registration and Bond Required for Air Rifles and BB Guns in the Codified Ordinances of the City of Weirton. Ordinance No. 2259 to Eliminate or Amend Various Antiquated City Ordinances.
