NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY (MT. OLIVE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH) Notice is hereby given that Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after November 19, 2025 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to Buckhannon Upshur Christmas Store, Inc., all of their right, title and interest, in and to the following tracts or parcels of land, situate in the Village of Hinkleville, Buckhannon District, Upshur County, West Virginia, and more particularly described as follows: PARCEL ONE BEGINNING at a stake in turnpike corner of Jack Pringle & Jacob Rom and Martin Caste’s corner, thence with Martin Caste’s line N. 87 E. 6 poles to a rock, thence N. 6 1/2 E 9 poles to a rock, thence S. 87 W. 6 poles to Jacob Caste’s line, thence with this line to the beginning, containing one acre more or less. And being the same property conveyed from John Caste to the Trustees of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ by Deed dated September 4, 1868 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Upshur County, West Virginia in Deed Book G, at Page 429, reference to which is hereby made. PARCEL TWO BEING LOT NO. 3 as shown and delineated upon that certain plat which is of record in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Upshur County, West Virginia in Plat Book 3 at Page 291, titled, “Plat of Survey for Herbert O. and Betty M. Jack, Buckhannon District, Upshur County, W.V. Being Part of 26.22 Acres, D. B. 256/490.” And being the same property conveyed from Herbert O. Jack and Betty M. Jack, husband and wife to Trustees of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church at Hinkleville, by Deed dated April 10, 1979 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 278, at Page 858, reference to which is hereby made. Said Mt. Olive United Methodist Church was closed effective September 1, 2025 by resolution of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
