ELECTION NOTICE
Any candidates wanting to run for the upcoming seats with the City of Glen Dale General Municipal Election, set for Tuesday, May 12, 2026, with the West Virginia’s Primary Election, will have from Monday, January 12, 2026, to Saturday, January 31, 2026, to file their candidacy with Melodie Rentfrow, City CLerk, 402 Wheeling Avenue, Glen Dale, WV 26038. Candidadtes wanting to file their Certificate of Announcement in-person, must submit it before 12:00pm Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, January 31, 2026. If mailing, the Certificate of Announcement must be postmarked by the United States Postal Service before midnight Eastern Standard Time (11:59pm on January 31, 2026 the last day of filing.) The form of certificate is set by law and must be notarized. A Certificate of Announcement that lacks essential information may be rejected.
The hours of the voting polls are from 6:30am to 7:30pm at John Marshall High School, 1300 Wheeling Avenue, Glen Dale. Precinct 13 includes 1st Street to 13th Street, Glen Haven, Glen Haven Addition, Lindy and Willow Lanes.

Mayor (2 year term)
Recorder (2 year term)
2 Councilpersons
(At Large) – (4 year term)
The filing fee for each candidate seat is $25.00.
