EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW
OF PROPERTY VALUES
The County Commission of Hancock County, West Virginia will meet as a Board of Equalization and Review starting January 30, 2026, at the Courthouse in New Cumberland, for the purpose of reviewing and equalizing the assessment of values made by the Assessor.
The Commission scheduled the following days for the purpose of hearing complaints, objections, and corrections of assessment set by the Assessor.
Friday January 30 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Appointment Only
Thursday February 5 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM Open Session
Wednesday February 11 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Appointment Only
Tuesday February 17 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Final Day to File
Friday February 20 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM Final Statement
Anyone wishing to schedule an appointment should please contact the Commission Office at 304-564-3311. If any person fails to apply for relief at these meetings, he or she shall have waived his or her right to ask for correction to his or her assessment list for the current year and shall not hereafter be permitted to question the correctness of this list as fixed by the County Commission except on appeal to the Circuit Clerk Hancock
