NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE
Please be advised that at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Benwood on the 13th day of January, 2026 at 5:00pm at the Benwood City Building located at 430 Main Street Benwood, West Virginia, Council will consider for first reading an Ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BENWOOD, WEST VIRGINIA PLACING ON THE BALLOT OF A MUNICIPAL ELECTION DURING THE WEST VIRGINIA PRIMARY ELECTION ON May 12, 2026, THE ISSUE OF RENEWING A TAX LEVY FOR THE FISCAL YEARS BEGINNING JULY 1, 2026 and JULY 1, 2027, TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE CITY’S SHARE OF FUNDING FOR ANY DEFICIT OF OPERATING COSTS AND THE COSTS OF ACQUIRING CAPITAL, EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES FOR THE SAME PERIOD FOR A SYSTEM OF URBAN MASS TRANSIT TO BE PROVIDED BY THE OHIO VALLEY REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY.
