NOTICE BOARD OF REVIEW AND EQUALIZATION
TAX YEAR 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Wetzel County
Commission will meet in the Wetzel County
Commission Chambers, Wetzel County Judicial Annex
in New Martinsville, West Virginia on the following days
for the purpose of reviewing the assessments made by
the Assessor for the year 2025.
Friday, January 30, 2026 10:00 A.M.
Thursday, February 5, 2026 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 17, 2026 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 23, 2026 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 26, 2026 1:30 P.M. (Natural Resource Day)
The Wetzel County Commission requires that you
attempt to resolve your complaint with the Wetzel
County Assessor prior to scheduling a meeting. In most
cases, the Assessor can resolve your problem.
If you are unable to come to an agreement with the
Assessor, submit completed application to the Clerk of
the County Commission at which time you will be given
a hearing date. Please call at 304-455-8224.
The Wetzel County Commission has determined that
the best evidence to dispute the Assessor’s valuation is
an APPRAISAL prepared by a licensed appraiser and
dated within the last calendar year. If you do not have
an appraisal, you must submit other clear evidence that
your assessment is incorrect.
You must submit all information you wish the
Commission to consider at least seventy-two (72) hours
prior to your hearing.
