Therefore on March 1, 2026, you will be permitted to tie-in to the newly constructed sewer system lines. Public Service Commission Rules and Regulations for the Government of Sewer Utilities which applies to the customers connecting to the newly constructed sewer line are as follows: 6.1.6. Notice by publication. — When sewer service is made available by a public service district to customers in an area which has not previously been served by the district, the district shall publish a notice in a newspaper of general circulation in the area affected once a week for two consecutive weeks, with the second notice being published at least thirty (30) days prior to the date that the district intends to begin billing for services. The notice shall state, at a minimum, the following information: (1) that sewer services are available; (2) the date that the district will begin billing for services as authorized by W. Va. Code 16-13A-9 and Sewer Rules 6.3; (3) the district’s rates; (4) that W. Va. Code 16-13A-9 authorizes the district to petition the circuit court to compel connection to the sewer system; (5) the location and telephone number of the district’s business office; and (6) the amount of the bill to be rendered as provided by W. Va. Code 16-13A-9, in the event a customer does not connect to the system. Therefore, customers with metered water service: Each 1,000 gallons of water used per month – $20.30 per 1,000 gallons (2.03 per 100 gallons of water) Minimum Monthly Charge of $40.60 Customers without water meters: Flat Rate of $91.35 per month Minimum Charge Therefore, we will mail your first bill for sewer service on the last day of the month after connection. Customers that have not connected will be billed beginning with service starting April 21, 2026 through May 21, 2026 based on actual water consumption. This is pursuant to West Virginia code 16-13A-9 and West Virginia Public Service Commission Rule 6.1.6. for the Government of Sewer Utilities. Our bills are mailed on or before the last business day of the month and due by the 20th of the following month.. We have the following information that will help you with the installation of your line: Guidelines for connecting your sewer lines General layout of customer’s service connection Profile view of customer’s service connection Keep in mind all lines must be inspected by a Sun Valley Public Service District employee. Therefore, you will need to call the office to set up a time for inspection at least three (3) business days prior to back filling your sewage line. A $50 sewer security deposit must be paid prior to hook up and inspection. If you are renting and you are not connected prior to the first billing date, please notify this office and we will bill your landlord or property owner. Note: The project rates will become effective upon substantial completion of the project or June 1, 2026, whichever comes first.
