NOTICE that the Town of Barrackville Council will hold two (2) public hearings; one on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 3:00 PM and one on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM. The hearings will be held at the Barrackville Town Hall, 716 Pike Street, Barrackville, WV 26559. The public is invited to attend and submit comments on the proposed Barrackville Zoning Ordinance. Copies of the proposed zoning ordinance, including maps, will be available for review prior to the public hearings during normal business hours (Tuesday through Friday 10 AM to 4 PM) at Barrackville Town Hall during normal business hours and online at https://landuse.law.wvu.edu/barrackville-draft-study-and-report-on-zoning.
The proposed zoning ordinance divides land in Barrackville into zoning districts, which specify permitted and conditional uses as well as development standards for real property within the zoning districts. The proposed zoning ordinance also creates a board of zoning appeals, adopts procedures and requirements for nonconforming land uses, variances, and conditional use permits; and specifies certification requirements for the zoning district map that are consistent with the Barrackville Comprehensive Plan. Members of the public can call town hall at 304-366-9372 if they are unable to view the zoning ordinance at the town hall or online. Written comments and objections to the proposed zoning ordinance may be made and will be heard at both public hearings and must be filed, prior to the hearings, with Barrackville Town Clerk at the Barrackville Town Hall, PO Box 26, 716 Pike Street, Barrackville, WV 26559.
