FULL-TIME DOG
WARDEN/HUMANE OFFICER
The Hancock County Commission will be accepting applications for a Full-time Dog Warden/Humane Officer. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be capable of being bonded to carry a firearm and pass firearm qualifications with duty weapon. Must be physically capable of lifting 80 – 100 lbs. and have the agility to capture animals on all terrain. Law enforcement or veterinarian skills a plus. Minimum duties include but are not limited to enforcing West Virginia laws pertaining to animals, enforcing County ordinance pertaining to control of dogs, investigating reported dog bites, investigating reports of animal abuse/neglect, and capturing stray and injured animals.
