The State of Vermont and the Department for Children and Families is involved in a juvenile proceeding involving AB. Pursuant to Title 33 of the Vermont Statutes Annotated, DCF has filed a petition for Termination of Parental Rights. The Court has scheduled a status hearing on the Termination of Parental Rights petition on April 2, 2026, at 10am and for a trial on the Termination of Parental Rights on May 1, 2026, at 9am at the Bennington Family Court, 200 Veterans Memorial Bennington, Vermont 05201. Pursuant to Vermont law, failure to appear at said trial may result in the Court adjudicating the termination of parental rights, contrary to the position of that person. The State is represented by the Attorney General's Office, HC 2 North, 280 State Drive, Waterbury, VT 05671-2080. Other interested parties include Sabrina Bessette and AB.
