AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE
Notice of Application Notice is given that Environmental Commodities Corporation has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality for a Construction Permit for a Mine Methane Capture Project for a new facility located in Marshall County, WV. The facility will be located at the 5K-2 site at (39.911024, -80.607851) in Cameron, WV. The purpose of the facility is to mitigate the methane currently emitting from an active mine due to safety measures for mining operations. This environmental action is entirely voluntary and not mandated by any State of Federal requirement. The applicant estimates the potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants will be: no more than 13.14 tons/year of NOx and 26.28 tons/year of CO at the site. Please note, the system’s purpose is to reduce an already existing pollutant. Startup of operation is planned to begin upon permit issuance, on or about the 28th day of April 2026. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Written comments will also be received via email at DEPAirQualityPermitting @WV.gov.
