Notice is hereby given that CORNERSTONE MINING, LLC, 150 COURTHOUSE ROAD, PRINCETON, WV 24740 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for an Article 3 permit for the surface disturbance of approximately 496.78 acres in order to Operate a contour, surface, auger, and highwall mine; Add Area Mining as an Operational Type and Method, in the Pocahontas No. 6 and Pocahontas No. 7 seams and splits there of seam of coal.
The proposed operation is discharging into Unnamed Tributaries of/and Mill Creek, Unnamed Tributaries of and Simmons Creek both of the Bluestone River of the New River of KANAWHA RV and is located 2.25 miles, Northwest of Bramwell in Rock District of Mercer County, Longitude 81˚ 19.' 56†and Latitude 37˚ 20' 55â€Â
