UPSHUR COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PUBLIC NOTICE EXPLANATION about voting for the Board of Education since there is much confusion: FACTS: 1) There are 3 total openings on the Board of Education: 2) THERE ARE: -2 seats available in District 1 -1 seat available in District 2 -1 seat available in District 3 3) The top three vote-getters overall will be elected regardless of district unless 2 of the 3 are both in District 2… then only the top vote-getter between them in District 2 will fill that District 2 seat. 4) Ways to vote for Board of Education: -You can vote for one, two, or up to three candidates -You are NOT required to vote for three; you may vote for just one or just two -You do NOT have to vote for someone in your district -Every voter in the county can vote for any Board of Education candidate 5) BOE is different from magisterial district voting where you must vote within your district.
