Bluefield State University will be accepting sealed bids for the Electrical Improvements / Upgrades at Dickason Hall located on the campus of Bluefield State University at 219 Rock Street, Bluefield, WV.
Sealed bids will be received by 2:00 p.m. on May 27th, 2026 at which time all sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after that time will be returned to the bidder unopened.
Scope of work includes equipment replacement including extending overhead MV cabling & associated appurtenances, rework of existing power pole and installation of new power pole, transformer, service switch, switchgear, power factor correction equipment and miscellaneous panels within the existing electrical service entry room. Designate fencing to project students on the path of egress as per national electrical safety code.
All work to be accomplished in accordance with the drawings and specifications prepared by E.T. Boggess Architect, Inc. and CMTA Engineering.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at Dickason Hall on the campus of Bluefield State University on May 13th at 2:00 p.m. All general contractors bidding on the project are encouraged to attend the meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions and other relevant information.
All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. Bidding instructions/documents are on file for inspection at the following offices during normal working hours:

Bluefield State University reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities therein. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after the time of opening of the bids.
