PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

In accordance with Chapter 8A, Article 5, Section 8 of the Code of West Virginia 2004, as amended, the Berkeley County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the public comments on the following projects:

REQUEST FOR DETAILED SIT PLAN APPROVAL: Forbes Dental

The site is located on the north side of Tavern Road (WV Sec. Rt. 10/1), approximately 0.2 miles east of Rock Cliff Drive (WV County Rt. 10), in the Hedgesville Tax District. The developer is proposing a 168 sq. ft. addition to the existing building for the purpose of a dental office. This site is currently served by public water and sewer.

REQUEST FOR WAIVER: Boyd’s Crossing – Phase 1, Section 4

The property is located approximately a quarter mile east of Interstate 81 along the south side of Runnymeade Road and approximately half a mile west from Winchester Avenue (US Route 11), in the Mill Creek Tax District. The developer is requesting a waiver to Section 504, of the Berkeley County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (2025), to allow uncovered decks to extend up to five feet into the rear yard setback, provided the rear yard abuts common open space as shown on the recorded plat.

PUBLIC HEARING DETAILS

The PUBLIC HEARING will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, in the County Commission Chambers, 400 West Stephen Street, in the City of Martinsburg at 6:00 p.m. All persons and agencies having an interest on said plats are invited to participate in this hearing and make their comments known.

In the event that an unforeseen circumstance would cause the Planning Commission to cancel the scheduled meeting, a back-up public hearing date Monday, July 6, 2026 will be utilized.
