The Hancock County Commission will be accepting letters from interested parties for the voluntary position of Hancock County Deputy Civil Service Commissioner for a term running until June 30, 2028. The Deputy Civil Service Commission is responsible for conducting meetings and making decisions pertaining to the Civil Service Statutes of West Virginia in regard to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department. Those interested in the position may be from any district; must be qualified voters of the county; and cannot hold any other public offices. There is no compensation for this position. All interested parties should submit their name, address, telephone number, and a letter stating their credentials and interest to the Hancock County Commission Office at PO Box 485, New Cumberland, West Virginia 26047 or by email at

hancockwv.org.
Letters must be received by July 10th, 2026, for consideration.
