PUBLIC NOTICE A Public Meeting will be held July 29th, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fayette County Commission Meeting Room, Courthouse, Fayetteville, Fayette County, West Virginia. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the proposal by the County Commission of Fayette County to increase the monthly Enhanced 9-1-1 emergency telephone system fee for the county’s consolidated emergency communications system. The emergency communications system serves as an answering point for all emergency telephone calls made by calling 9-1-1 and enforcement needs reported to 9-1-1 dispatchers. In accordance with West Virginia Code, Chapter 24, Article 6, Section 1, et. Sec., the system is currently funded by a surcharge of $3.50 per monthly, per main telephone line. For the following reasons, the Fayette County Commission proposes to increase the Enhanced 9-1-1 fee to $4.50 per month: to provide adequate funding for E-911 Center operation, employees’ salaries/benefits, equipment, maintenance and improvements and upgrades.
