INVITATION TO BID
The Benwood-McMechen Housing Authority will receive sealed bids on a Lump-Sum basis for Mechanical Room Door Replacements at Various Apartment Buildings, Benwood and McMechen, West Virginia, until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at the Housing Authority Offices, 2200 Marshall Street, Benwood, WV 26031, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A Prebid Conference will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Housing Authority’s Administrative Offices at 2200 Marshall Street, Benwood, West Virginia. The scope and details of the proposed project work will be discussed. Attendance is recommended.
Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained upon request to Browne Group Architects, 1351 King Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43212, telephone (614) 486-7145, together with a deposit in the amount of $50.00 made payable to: Browne Group Architects, for each set of documents requested. Each contractor shall be limited to one set of refundable documents. Upon return of the documents in good condition, within ten (10) days of the bid opening, said deposit will be returned. Said deposit will not be returned if contractor has not submitted a valid bid. Bidder may examine bid documents at the following locations:

The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). The purpose of Section 3 is to ensure that employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD- assisted projects covered by Section 3, shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low-and very low-income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing.
