FIRE ALARM
UPGRADES FOR
MARTINSBURG HIGH SCHOOL
THRASHER
PROJECT #060-10149

Sealed Bids for Fire Alarm Upgrades for Martinsburg High School will be received by the Berkeley County Board of Education at the offices of The Thrasher Group, located at 160 Association Drive, Kanawha
County, West Virginia, until 2:00 p.m., L.P.T., on Thursday, August 20, 2020, for furnishing labor and materials and performing all Work set forth in the Contract Documents prepared by The Thrasher Group, Inc.
Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids, all proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m., L.P.T. through live-stream, as social distancing guidelines will be followed. A link for the live-stream of the Bid Opening will be provided via Addendum.
The approximate quantities of Work to be Bid upon is as described as follows:
Base bid work includes material and labor to
install a noncoded, addressable-analog fire alarm system with manual and automatic alarm initiation; automatic sensitivity control of smoke detectors; and multiplexed signal transmission dedicated to fire alarm service only. Include fire alarm control panel, manual
stations, detectors, signal equipment, controls, and devices as necessary for
a complete system.

The Work will be substantially completed 100 days from issuance of
Notice to Commence with final completion 30 days after. Liquidated damages shall be $500 per day.

Complete sets of Bidding Documents may be obtained from the office of The Thrasher Group, Inc,, 160 Association Drive, Charleston, WV 25311, for the following costs:

issued as hard copy drawings and hard copy specifications are available for $100 per set.

¯Bidding Documents issued as digital drawings and digital specifications are free of charge.

Amounts paid are not
subject to refund.
A two envelope system will be used.
Envelope No. 1 must have the following information presented on the front:
Name and address of Bidder
Bid on Fire Alarm Upgrades for Martinsburg High School
Received by The Thrasher Group, Inc. on behalf of Berkeley County Schools

Envelope No. 2 labled “Bid Proposal” shall also be placed inside of
Envelope #1.

Envelope No.1 will be opened first and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance as outlined on the Bid Opening Checklist on page BOR-1 of these contract documents. If such documents are found to be in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal”, will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order,
Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal” will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder.

A Bidder may not withdraw his Bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of Bids.
Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond payable to the Berkeley County Board of Education, for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base Bid.
Bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractor’s license on the date of Bid Opening.
Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids will be returned unopened to the Bidders.
Berkeley County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
