INVITATION TO BID
The owner of Claymont Mansion, located at 667 Huyett Road, Charles Town WV 25414 is
requesting bids to repair and paint the roof of the Mansion’s main building.
The project includes:
Examination and repair of existing standing seam metal roof on
Mansion building.
Examination and repair of existing built-
in hidden gutters.
Pressure washing,
scraping, and sanding of all existing metal roof components.
Prime all sanded metal with Sherwin Williams Pro-Cryl and provide 2 topcoats of Sherwin
Williams Sher-Cryl.
Replace missing snow guards
to match existing.
The project must be
completed by August 15, 2021 and will be reviewed by the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Contractors will be selected based upon (1) cost, (2) experience with similar historic preservation projects, and (3) proven ability to complete a project. The contractor must carry out the described work in compliance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for
Rehabilitation.

The property will be open for a mandatory pre-
bid walkthrough on at

Partial funds for this
project are through the WV State Historic
Preservation Office (WVSHPO) and all work must be approved by the SHPO prior to payment. All applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations apply.
