Marshall County Schools Board of Education Roof Replacement

Sealed proposals for the removal and replacement of the existing roof at the Board Office of Marshall County Schools in Moundsville, WV will be received by the Marshall County Board of Education, Administrative Office, 214 Middle Grave Creek Road, Moundsville, WV 26041, until 1:00 pm local time on November 18, 2015. At this time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. After opening, the bids will be compared as to quality, thoroughness, and cost.

The scope of the work for this project will consist of removing the existing roof system down to the decking. Once this has been completed, the contractor will install 2″ polyisocyanurate roof insulation and a new .060 fully adhered EPDM rubber roofing system. The contractor will then flash watertight all existing roof penetrations. A new metal edge around the perimeter of the roof areas shall be fabricated and installed as well as new scupper boxes and conductor boxes. A 20 year manufacturer’s warranty shall be provided upon the completion of the job.

The successful bidder shall organize and clean-up the project at the completion of each day. All work will be completed within strict accordance to the manufacturer’s specifications. At the completion of the project, all debris, will be removed from site and hauled to an approved landfill.

A satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and surety in an amount equal to 5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory 100{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} performance and labor and material payment bond in the amount of the contract price. Each bidder must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex or national origin.

Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days without the consent of the Board.

Contractors shall comply with all applicable national and state codes and regulations.

Pursuant to Chapter 21-Article 11 of the “West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act” of 1991, all Contractors doing business in West Virginia must be licensed to perform work in the State; the Contractor’s WV license number must be affixed to all submitted construction bids and fully executed and binding construction contractors for agreements.

To the extent permitted by law, the Marshall County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of the Marshall County Schools.
