PUBLIC NOTICE
There will be a public meeting Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. to be held at the County Commission of Raleigh County located at 116 1/2 North Heber Street, Beckley, West Virginia. The purpose of this meeting is to consider the request of the Town of Sophia to annex by minor boundary adjustment a 5 acre tract commonly referenced as the former Sophia – Soak Creek Elementary School, more particularly described as follows:
PARCEL ONE:
The surface only of that certain tract or parcel of land containing, by estimation, five (5.00) acres, more or less, situate in Slab Fork District, Raleigh County, West Virginia, together with any appurtenances thereunto belonging, and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at a stake in the boundary line between Beaver Coal Corporation’s Tract 156 (I.C. Prince) and Tract 156a (I.C. Prince) said beginning point being S. 24deg. 09′ E. 150.00 feet from a stake (white oak stump called for but gone) a common corner of said Tract 156 (I.C. Prince) and said Tract 156a (I.C. Prince); thence passing through said Tract 156 (I.C. Prince), N. 65deg. 51′ E. 500.00 feet to a stake; thence S. 24deg. 09′ E. 435.60 feet to a stake; thence S. 65deg. 51′ W. 500.00 feet to a stake in the boundary line between said Tract 156 (LC. Prince) and said Tract 156a (I.C. Prince); thence following said boundary line between said Tract 156 (I.C. Prince) and said Tract 156a (I.C. Prince), N. 24deg. 09′ W. 435.60 feet to the point of beginning; containing 5.00 acres, more or less, and being part of the surface of Beaver Coal Corporation’s Tract 156 (I.C. Prince).
Reference is made to a plat titled Map of 5.00 Acres Surface conveyed by Beaver Coal Corporation to the Board of Education, Raleigh County, West Virginia by deed dated July 8, 1952, attached hereto.
