CHARLESTON

CASE NO. 15-0961-W-MA

TOWN OF HARMAN,

Investigation of increase in water rates and charges
as a result of petitions filed in accordance with
W. Va. Code section 24-2-4b

NOTICE OF HEARING ON JURISDICTION

On or about June 2, 2015, the Town of Harman adopted an ordinance increasing its water rates by 58{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}. The Town of Harman intended to implement the increase on July 17, 2015.

On June 17, 2015, the Public Service Commission received a Petition of protest signed by not less than twenty-five percent of the Town’s water customers.

On June 18, 2015, the Public Service Commission asserted its jurisdiction over the Town of Harman’s water rates.

On July 2, 2015, the Town of Harman challenged the Commission’s jurisdiction alleging that certain signatures on the protest petition were invalid.

The matter has been set for hearing on the issue of jurisdiction on July 29, 2015, at 1:30 p.m., at the Old Senior Center Building, Water Street, Harman, West Virginia. Interested individuals may appear and be heard regarding issues related to the validity of the protest petition. If it is determined that the Commission has jurisdiction over the Town of Harman’s water rates, the notice of a later hearing on the proper rates for the town will be published in the newspaper.
