Petition to initiate the annual review and to
update the ENEC rates currently in effect.
NOTICE OF FILING AND HEARING
On August 14, 2015, the Monongahela Power Company and The Potomac Edison Company (together FirstEnergy) requested that this Commission open its annual review of Expanded Net Energy Costs (ENEC) for the period of July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2015. It seeks for the Commission to approve a total increase of $165,093,930. This amount consists of an under-recovery of $96,997,828 as of June 30, 2015, a projected under-recovery of $23,650,578 for the 2016 rate effective period at the current rates and an under-recovery of $44,445,524 on the Temporary Transaction Surcharge (TTS) for the acquisition of the Harrison Power Station.
This matter is scheduled for an evidentiary hearing beginning on November 19-20, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, Public Service Commission, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia. Interested persons may attend the hearing and make public comment.
Anyone desiring to petition to intervene should file a written petition within ten days following the publication of this notice. Failure to timely seek to intervene can affect your rights to participate in future proceedings. The Commission will receive written comments or protests up to the date of hearing. All protests or requests to intervene should briefly state the reason for the protest or intervention. Requests to intervene must comply with the Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure.
