At a session of the PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF WEST VIRGINIA in the City of Charleston on the 23rd day of October 2015.

CASE NO. 15-1433-E-P

MONONGAHELA POWER COMPANY
AND THE POTOMAC EDISON COMPANY,
Petition for Reconciliation of Surcharge and Regular
Review of Vegetation Management Surcharge.

NOTICE OF FILING AND HEARING

On August 31, 2015, the Monongahela Power Company and The Potomac Edison Company (together FirstEnergy) filed its first petition for review, requesting increased rates for its Vegetation Management Surcharge (VMS) to be effective January 1, 2016, or earlier if possible. The proposed increased VMS is projected to result in additional annual revenues of $37,670,295 in 2016, and $38,228,532 in 2017.  A portion of the proposed increase is because of a deferred under-recovery balance for vegetation costs of $51,979,966 as of June 30, 2015, and a projected under-recovery during 2016 and 2017, of $23,918,861.

Case No. 15-1351-E-P, a review of energy costs of FirstEnergy, is scheduled to begin on November 19, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, Public Service Commission, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia.  This matter, Case No. 15-1433-E-P, will begin immediately following the hearing in Case No. 15-1351-E-P, in the same location. Interested persons may attend the hearing and make public comment.
