MONONGAHELA POWER COMPANY AND THE POTOMAC EDISON COMPAY,
Petition to initiate the annual review and to update the ENEC rates currently in effect.
NOTICE OF FILING AND HEARING
On August 16, 2016, Monongahela Power Company (Mon Power) and The Potomac Edison Company (PE) requested that this Commission open its annual review of Expanded Net Energy Costs (ENEC) for the period of July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016.    The  Com-panies  seek  for  the  Commission  to  approve  a  total  increase  of
$64,946,842. This amount consists of an under-recovery of $ l l 9,421,357 as of June 30, 2016, a projected over-recovery of $53,717,386 for the 2017 rate effective period. The rates also include recovery  of two deferrals from the 2015 ENEC proceeding:
1) a $23,466,552 deferral of energy re-lated costs for the largest industrial rate schedules, and
2) a $18,928,234 deferral for unrecovered generation transaction costs for the acquisition of the Harrison Power Station.
This matter is scheduled for an evi-dentiary hearing beginning on November 9, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, Public Service Commission, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia. Interested persons may attend the hearing and make public comment.
Anyone desiring to petition to intervene should file a written petition within ten days following the publication of this notice. Failure to timely seek to intervene can affect your rights to participate  in future proceedings. The Commission will receive written comments or protests up to the date of hearing. All protests or requests to intervene should briefly state the reason for the protest or intervention.
