NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO CHANGE RATES
On July 17, 2025, Central Hampshire Public Service District filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia an Application requesting increased rates and charges for furnishing water service to approximately 1,718 customers in Hampshire County, West Virginia.
The Staff of the Public Service Commission has reviewed the Application and recommended increased rates and charges that would produce approximately $65,260 annually in additional revenue, an overall increase of 3.62% over current rates, until substantial completion of the Town of Romney’s water improvement project, or its commencement of debt service, which ever first occurs. Afterwards, rates would increase by 3.86% over Step 2 rates that are currently pending for the District. The prior and recommended rates are as follows:

Anyone desiring to protest the proposed rates and charges must do so, in writing, within ten (10) days of the date of publication of this notice. All protests should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, West Virginia 25323. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to reasons that the proposed rates and charges should be modified.
The Commission may adopt rates and charges for Central Hampshire Public Service District which are the same as, greater than or less than the Staff-recommended rates and charges.
