NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FIVE-YEAR UPDATE AND AMENDMENT OF
TAZEWELL COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, Virginia, will conduct a public hearing on October 1, 2019 at 6:45 PM, or as soon thereafter as may be practical, at the Tazewell County Administration Building, located at 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651, and hereby gives its intent to adopt a Five-Year Update and a Major Amendment to the Tazewell County Solid Waste Management Plan.
Pursuant to Section 10.1-1411 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, Tazewell County is required to develop and implement a local solid waste management plan in accordance with the regulations of the Virginia Waste Management Board under the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Pursuant to Section 9VAC20-130-150 of the Virginia Administrative Code, prior to submission of a plan or major amendment to DEQ, Tazewell County is required to publish a Notice of Public Hearing and hold a public hearing on its Solid Waste Management Plan.
All persons wishing to comment on the proposed Five-Year Update and Major Amendment to the Tazewell County Solid Waste Management Plan are hereby invited to attend and state their views thereon. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if special assistance is needed to participate in a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, please contact the County Administrator’s Office by telephone at (276) 385-1322, by facsimile at (276) 988-4246, or by email at [email protected]. A notification of five (5) working days before the meeting will enable the County Administrator’s Office to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting.
A complete copy of the updated Tazewell County Solid Waste Management Plan is posted on the Tazewell County Circuit Court’s bulletin board on the second floor of the Tazewell County Courthouse, located at 135 Court Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651. A complete copy of the updated Tazewell County Solid Waste Management Plan is also on file in the office of the County Administrator, located at 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651.
