On the basis of review of the application the “Water Pollution Control Act (Chapter 22, Article 11-8(a)),” and the “West Virginia Legislative Rules,” the State of West Virginia will act on the above application.

Any interested person may submit written comments on the site registration  permit application  and may request a public hearing by addressing such to the Director of the Division of Water and Waste Management within 30 days of the date of the public notice.  Such comments or requests should be emailed to Sharon.A.Mullins @wv.gov or addressed to:

The public comment period begins September 18, 2024 and ends October 18, 2024.

Comments received within this period will be considered prior to acting on the permit application. Correspondence should include the name, address and the telephone number of the writer and a concise statement of the nature of the issues raised. The Director shall hold a public hearing whenever a finding is made, on the basis of requests, that there is a significant degree of public interest on issues relevant to the site registration permit application and this facility’s coverage under the General  Permit. Interested persons may contact the Public Information Office to obtain further information.

The application may be inspected, by appointment, at the Division of Water and Waste Management Public Information Office, at 601 57th Street SE, Charleston, WV, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on business days.  Copies of the application and the General Permit and Fact Sheet may be obtained from the Division at a nominal cost.

The Ranson Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on October 7, 2024, at Ranson City Hall, 312 S. Mildred Street, Ranson, WV.  The purpose of the public hearing is to accept public comments on a release of guarantee for the subdivision Briar Run Phase 6. The release is for as they have satisfied $187,770.94 the entirety of the bond obligation.

All persons are invited to attend and make comments about the bond release. If you cannot attend but wish to comment, you may write to the f ollowing address prior to October 4, 2024:  City of Ranson, Attn: Community Development Department, 312 S. CITY OF RANSON

In accordance with W. Va. Code §8A-5-8 et seq., the Ranson Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 7 pm at Ranson City Hall, 312 S. Mildred Street, Ranson, WV. The purpose of the public hearing is to accept public comments on the final plat proposal for Shenandoah Springs Phase 3B, accepting the bond for Shenandoah Springs Phase 3B, and a Development Agreement for Phase 3B of Shenandoah Springs. All persons are invited to attend and make comments about the proposed final plat.

Copies of the proposed plat and bond are available upon request in the Community Development Department. Harpers Ferry Water Works

Harpers Ferry Water Works is currently seeking snow plowing/snow removal bids at the Water Plant located at 1435 Bakerton Road, Harpers Ferry, for the 2024-2025 season.

Bidders must be licensed and insured in the State of West Virginia and must obtain a business license with the Corporation of Harpers Ferry.  Bidders must be able to respond after an accumulation of 2 inches of snow and continuing per storm and, in a timely manner, to deal with spreading of salt during ice accumulation. 

A list of all equipment and hourly rates shall be included with the bid proposal, including salt spreading equipment, sale, and aggregate costs.

The Corporation of Harpers Ferry is currently seeking snow plowing/snow removal bids for the 2024-2025 season.

Bidders must be licensed and insured in the State of West Virginia and must obtain a business license with the Corporation of Harpers Ferry.  Bidders must be able to respond after an accumulation of 2 inches of snow and continuing per storm and, in a timely manner, to deal with spreading of salt during ice accumulation. 

Bidders must be capable of plowing snow and clearing all streets within the Corporation; removal of snow from the sidewalk on Washington Street through High Street and on Potomac Street; and include with the bid a street clean up sweep at the end of the season.

A list of all equipment and hourly rates shall be included with the bid proposal, including salt spreading equipment, sale, and aggregate costs.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Halltown Memorial Chapel Association announces that the preservation and restoration of the Halltown Colored Free School (Free School) at 394 Halltown Road in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia 25425 is being supported by a grant from the Historic Preservation Fund administered by the National Park Service, Department of Interior. 

This grant addresses the restoration/rehabilitation of the interior and exterior Free School brick and concrete masonry and the restoration/replacement (as needed) of the interior Free School wood flooring system.
