TOWN OF CHESAPEAKE (WV) REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) DEMOLITION SERVICES ROUND #2 The Town of Chesapeake (WV) is accepting sealed bids for the demolition of seventeen (17) dwellings within town limits. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder meeting all regulatory compliance requirements. Scope of Work: Permitting and Notifications: In addition to obtaining the necessary demolition permits from the Town of Chesapeake (WV). Site Preparation and Safety: Implement safety protocols in accordance with federal and state codes, including the West Virginia State Fire Code. This involves securing the site, posting appropriate signage, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards. Develop a safety plan that addresses potential hazards during demolition. Contractor shall cap the sewer line prior to demolition to ensure that no debris enters the sanitary sewer system. After demolition, the contractor shall grate, seed, and cover the disturbed area with straw to restore the site. Structural Demolition and Debris Disposal: Proceed with the careful dismantling of the seventeen residential structures, ensuring that all debris is disposed of in compliance with environmental regulations. This includes the proper handling and disposal of any hazardous materials identified during the asbestos inspection. Site Restoration: After demolition grade the site to ensure proper drainage as required. Remove all debris and waste materials, leaving the site clean and free of hazards. Conduct a final inspection to confirm that all work has been completed satisfactorily and in compliance with applicable regulations.
