Columbia Gas Transmission, LLC
Docket No. CP15-87-000
Columbia Gas Transmission, LLC (Columbia Gas) has filed an application before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Docket No. CP 15-87-000. Columbia Gas’ application propoese, among other things, a new Greenfield pipeline and modifications to three existing Columbia Gas facilities near Clendenin, WV.
Description of Company: Columbia Gas is a “natural gas company” as defined under the Natural Gas Act, engaged primarily in the business of transporting natural gas and operating underground storage fields in interstate commerce under authorizations granted by and subject to the jurisdiction of the FERC. Columbia Gas operates facilities located in the states of Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland.
Project’s Purpose: The application asks the FERC to authorize Columbia Gas to construct facilities to increase its system capacity making it possible for new sources of gas supply to meet emerging market growth needs. Columbia Gas’ application proposes to install approximately 5 miles of new 24 “greenfield pipeline and modifications at three existing Columbia Gas facilities: Coco Compressor Station, Cobb Compressor Station, and Panther Mountain. This project’s facilities will be constructed in Kanawha and Clay Counties, West Virginia, near the town of Clendenin.
The proposed construction will allow for the additional transportation of gas westward from the existing Dominion Transmissions’ Cornwell Compressor Station and will deliver to Columbia’s 30” Line X-52M1 transmission pipeline.
Columbia Gas expects to commence construction of the facilities by March 2016 and place the completed facilities into service by October, 2016. However, construction dates are subject to change depending on a variety of factors including receipt of FERC approval and inclement weather.
In the event the project is approved, Columbia Gas may need an easement and/or other land rights from you to construct the project, unless these land rights have already been granted to Columbia Gas by you or a previous owner of your property.

Project Location: A map indicating the general location of the pipeline construction associated with this project is shown.
