Bid documents may be obtained from Alpha Associates, Inc. Provide non-refundable fee of $100, either with check and mailed to the address above, or through Visa/Mastercard payment on the web site: and accessing the Bid Center. A shipping fee of $10 will be assessed if documents are to be mailed.

Owner will receive sealed bids until the bid time and date at the location indicated below. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:

Bids will be there after publicly opened and read aloud.
Retain "Design-Builder" Paragraph below for design-build projects.

Project consists of Selective demolition of entire roof structure, preserving all salvageable and useable slate tiles for re-use. Provide new wood trusses and framing for roof. Renovation of interior to accommodate two public use toilet rooms. Limited electrical, Limited plumbing and interior finishes, as well as doors and windows.

Contract is a Single Prime Stipulated Lump Sum. Federal Wage Rates Decision Number WV170046 apply.

West Virginia Code 21-11-2 requires all Bidders desiring to perform contractual work in West Virginia must be duly licensed. All prospective Bidders shall be licensed prior to submitting their bid and shall include their contractor’ s license number on their bid in accordance with the requirements of West Virginia Code 21-11-11. All Bidders must also be registered with the local jurisdiction and will be required to pay applicable B&O taxes.

Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.

Each Bid shall be accompanied by security in the form of a certified check or Bid Bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of West Virginia payable to the order of the Mon River Conservancy in the amount of not less than five percent (5 {4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the total bid.

The Masontown Elkins Coal & Coke Building Renovation project is partially funded by a grant from the Federal Highway Administration’ s Recreational Trails Program administered by the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways. Design and control of the project must be in conformance with the guidelines of the Recreational Trails Program and all applicable State and Federal Regulations. All work will be in accordance with all pertaining Federal, State and Municipal laws, rules, and regulations.

The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, both in the amount of at least one hundred percent (100{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the Contract Price.

Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work.

Successful Bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages.

Mon River Trails Conservancy (Owner) reserves the right to reject and all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding.
