approval of the continuation of those programs and authorization of an increase in EE-R Rider Rates. NOTICE OF FILING AND HEARING On April 1 2024 Appalachian Power Company and Wheeling Power Company filed a petition to initiate the 2024 Energy Efficiency and Demand Response (EE-R) review proceeding. The Companies propose: 1. That the frequency of EE-R review be altered from every two years to every three years. 2. That the Low-Income Weatherization and Low-Income Multifamily programs continue to operate unmodified. 3. That the Home Performance and Peak Reduction programs continue to operate with modifications. 4. That the Beneficial Electrification Pilot Program be terminated and replaced with a new Beneficial Electrification Program. 5. The establishment of budgets for each program and appropriate rates to recover those costs. 6. New EE-R rates effective January 1 2025 and for the next three rate years of 0.001853 cents per kilowatt-hour for residential customers and 0.000225 cents per kilowatt-hour for commercial and industrial customers. The Commission set a procedural schedule including an evidentiary hearing to begin at 9:30 a.m. August 20 2024 in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room at the Commission’s offices at 201 Brooks Street Charleston West Virginia. Anyone desiring to protest should file a written protest as soon as possible although protests will be accepted throughout the pendency of this proceeding.
