Notice of Application
Notice is given that the U.S. Silica Company has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, for a Construction Permit to install silica sand handling equipment at U.S. Silica’s existing plant located on 2496 Hancock Road near Berkeley Springs in Morgan County, West Virginia. The latitude and longitude coordinates are: 39.657465 N, -78.206702 W.
The applicant estimates the increased potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants will be:
Particulate Matter (PM): 5.21 tons per year (tpy) Particulate Matter < 10 microns (PM10): 5.20 tpy
Particulate Matter < 25 microns (PM2.5): 4.16 tpy
Construction is planned to begin on or about the day the permit is issued. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice.
